You must pass a Secure English Language Test (SELT) in at least CEFR level B1 in Speaking and Listening for:

The UK Border Agency research suggests that English language skills are associated with a 20% increase in the likelihood of employment and also a greater potential for earning. English language itself is probably the single most important element in enabling diverse communities to participate.
If you wish to apply for British Citizenship or Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), you need to demonstrate your knowledge of life in the United Kingdom as well as proving that yours English speaking and listening skills are adequate to cope with everyday life.
The amount of time needed to learn a language can vary considerably and there is no minimum course length.
Our course combines English Language with Citizenship context. An experienced teacher assesses all students at the time of enrolment. The courses are for those students who have a standard of English below CEFR Entry 3. If you are not sure what your level of English is, we will arrange a free diagnostic assessment for you.

NOTE.
Remember you are required to have an approved B1 Speaking and Listening Qualification and take the Life in the UK Test, this minimum qualification will also help you fit into British way of life and be able to communicate in English, at home, at work or wherever you go.
